The Benefits of Emotional Support Animals For People with Anxiety and Depression

However, certain breeds with a loving temperament tend to work best. Some people do prefer cats who are calming as people pet them.
Interaction with people and unconditional love can fill a void of emptiness many feel when depressed. Studies also suggest that caring for a dog can take one's mind off anxiety and give people a sense of purpose. The purpose is essential to help people feel valued and raise self-esteem.
